Before streaming apps will work properly, make sure your TV has been activated at vizio.com/setup. Activation links your TV to your Vizio account and ensures all SmartCast features — including app authentication — function correctly.

How to Sign In to Streaming Apps
Signing in to a streaming app on your Vizio Smart TV is straightforward. For most services, you’ll either enter your email and password directly on the TV or use an activation code method — where you sign in on your phone or computer and the TV automatically unlocks.1
Open the App
From the SmartCast home screen, scroll to the app you want to sign in to and press OK on your remote to launch it. If the app isn’t installed yet, visit the App Store first — press the V button on your remote, scroll to App Store, and search for the service by name.
2
Select 'Sign In'
On the app’s welcome or splash screen, look for a Sign In, Log In, or Get Started option. Use the directional buttons on your remote to highlight it and press OK.
3
Choose Your Sign-In Method
Most apps offer two options: enter credentials on TV or use an activation code. The activation code method is highly recommended — it’s faster and avoids the frustration of typing a long password with the on-screen keyboard.
4
Enter Credentials or Use an Activation Code
If typing on the TV: Use the on-screen keyboard (or the SmartCast mobile app keyboard) to enter your email address and password. If using an activation code: The TV will display a short code and a URL like netflix.com/activate or hulu.com/activate. On your phone or computer, go to that URL, sign in to your account, and enter the code. The TV signs in automatically within seconds.
5
Start Watching
Once signed in, you’ll land on the app’s home screen. Browse content, pick something to watch, and press OK or Play to begin streaming. Your sign-in stays active so you won’t need to log in again on this TV unless you manually sign out.

Unlike every other streaming service on this page, WatchFree+ requires no subscription, no sign-in, and no credit card. It’s simply there, ready to use, the moment you turn on your TV. WatchFree+ features include:- 250+ live TV channels covering news, sports, movies, comedy, lifestyle, kids, and more
- On-demand library with thousands of free movies and TV episodes

Managing Subscriptions
Keeping track of which streaming services you’re subscribed to can get complicated. Here are a few tips for staying on top of your subscriptions. View Active Subscriptions Each service manages its own billing. To see what plans you’re currently subscribed to, log in to each service’s website directly — for example, netflix.com/account, hulu.com/account, or disneyplus.com/account. Your billing information, renewal dates, and plan details are all managed there, not through the Vizio TV itself. Cancel a Subscription To cancel any streaming service, go to that service’s website on your phone or computer and navigate to account or subscription settings. Most services let you cancel directly online without calling customer service. After canceling, you typically retain access until the end of your current billing period. Bundle Deals Several services offer money-saving bundles. Disney+ offers a bundle that includes Hulu and ESPN+ at a reduced monthly price. Amazon Prime bundles Prime Video with free shipping and other benefits. Check each service’s website for current bundle offers.Streaming Quality Tips
Getting the best picture and sound from your streaming services depends on a few key factors — most importantly, your internet connection speed.
Improve Your Streaming Experience
- Use 5 GHz WiFi whenever possible. The 5 GHz band is faster and less congested than 2.4 GHz, which leads to more consistent streaming with less buffering.
- Position your router in the same room as your TV, or use a WiFi extender to boost signal strength in rooms far from your router.
- Reduce network congestion by limiting the number of devices streaming simultaneously on your home network.
- Enable 4K and HDR in app settings — many streaming apps have a quality or playback settings menu where you can explicitly select 4K or HDR output if it isn’t automatically enabled.
- Check your TV picture mode — use Calibrated or Calibrated Dark mode on your Vizio TV for the most accurate colors when watching HDR or Dolby Vision content.
